Job summary

GBA Builders in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Field Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple projects. You will coordinate trades, manage safety and quality, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high standards on site.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction-related fields and 5+ years of experience, OSHA-30, and strong communication. Expect nationwide travel with home every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant field superintendent experience on construction projects.
• OSHA-30 certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate construction activities, logistics, and field personnel.
• Communicate with contractors about ASIs, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Ensure subcontractors meet safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Manage quality control for materials and work in place.
• Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and inspectors.
• Proactively identify and resolve conflicts related to schedule, design, quality, and safety.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and photo records of jobsite progress.
• Develop look-ahead schedules (minimum 3-week) and distribute to relevant parties.
• Conduct Daily Huddle and weekly Coordination meetings.
• Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
• Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.

We're seeking a Field Superintendent to join our team and ensure seamless execution of projects, from day-to-day operations to quality control and safety oversight. This role is perfect for a hands-on, organized, and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment. You'll manage specific trades or scopes of work, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain top-tier safety and quality standards on the jobsite. On smaller projects, you may take full project oversight, assuming responsibilities aligned with a Project Superintendent role.

What You'll Do

• Plan and coordinate construction activities, logistics, and field personnel.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• OSHA-30 certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools: pull-planning, Microsoft Project, and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Basic understanding of construction quality control (CQC) standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
• Ability to respond constructively to feedback and maintain effective working relationships on-site.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs at times.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.

Travel

• Full-time travel to job sites across the U.S., with the ability to be home every other weekend.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
