Role Description

The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role located in the Farmville, North Carolina area. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, including coordinating crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within specifications. The Superintendent monitors jobsite progress, conducts inspections, enforces safety protocols, and resolves issues that may impact quality or timelines. This role also involves interpreting drawings and plans, communicating with project managers and clients, and preparing or reviewing daily reports and documentation. The Superintendent provides leadership in the field, supports continuous improvement, and helps maintain the company’s high standards of craftsmanship and service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising construction or industrial projects, preferably involving structural steel or custom metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices, OSHA regulations, and risk mitigation in industrial and construction environments.
• Proven skills in coordinating crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project schedules and quality standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with field teams, project managers, and clients.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in resolving technical and scheduling challenges on site.
• Experience with basic project documentation, daily reports, and use of construction or project management software.
• Background in structural steel, industrial installations, or bulk material handling systems is highly beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to work on site full time, including standing, walking, and working in industrial environments and varying weather conditions.
