Job summary

RC Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a field-oriented project lead in Beaufort, SC to coordinate field crews and subcontractors, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain project schedules. You will uphold safety standards, participate in meetings, and manage daily field documentation.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership to foster a positive, safe, and productive work environment while coordinating with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Maintain OSHA 30-hour and current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Maintain Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience surveying, construction staking, GPS, Total Station, and/or machine control preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years managing crews preferred.
• Army Corps of Engineers experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills, MS Office, and Excel-based templates. AutoCAD is a plus.
• Verifiable references.
• Insurance-approved driving record
• Obtain and maintain military base access.

Responsibilities

• The duties involve being the direct liaisons between the field crews/activities, and subcontractors.
• Responsible for the production aspects of the work producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standards outlined in the project's contract documents.
• Performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner and maintaining a work environment that is safe and continuously kept clean and orderly.
• Responsible for establishing a professional work environment that includes fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, facilitating problem-solving, and minimizing and resolving conflict constructively.
• Administering client-specific programs, such as CQC, Safety, Environmental Stewardship, etc.
• Conducting and/or attending pre-construction, progress, and other projects and staff meetings.
• Conducting and/or participating in regularly held meetings involving R.C. staff.
• Meeting with client representatives regularly to discuss the status of projects, to proactively identify and resolve problems, and to ensure that the client is kept knowledgeable about the status of the work.
• Maintaining daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and E-mail correspondence.
• Providing timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as Accounting and HR.
• Directing and managing the workloads of supporting staff to include training, mentoring, and follow-up.
• Participating in and encouraging staff to seek out life-long learning opportunities and professional development.
