Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 ideas and solutions company seeking a skilled forklift operator for our roll room at a SCP location. You will move rolls from trucks/railcars to staging areas with safety and efficiency, perform daily clamp truck inspections, and help maintain a zero-damage roll room.

The role includes leadership duties and inventory control. Starting pay is $29.52 per hour with shift differential for 2nd/3rd shifts, plus benefits after hire.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Willing to work any shift.
• Certified industrial driver or ability to get certified in a timely manner.
• Ability to safely operate a powered forklift, maintain and perform daily safety inspections in regard to the clamp truck, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and perform lockout/tag-out procedures on trailers.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Move product from truck/railcar to staging area safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily safety inspections of the clamp truck and keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Maintain a zero-damage roll room at all times.
• Pick and stage run-ready rolls for orders and load/unload trucks while maintaining inventory integrity.
• Perform lockout/tag out procedures on trailers.
• Maintain good housekeeping and manufacturing practices.
• Lead responsibilities maintaining the roll room.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that the product is moved from the truck/railcar to the staging area in a safe and efficient manner.

Maintain and perform daily safety inspections of the clamp truck and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Maintain a zero damage roll room at all times.

Pick and stage run-ready rolls for orders and load and unload trucks, while maintaining inventory integrity through proper handling and storage.

Perform lockout/tag out procedures on trailers.

Maintain good housekeeping and manufacturing practices at all times.

This position will also have lead responsibilities maintaining the roll room

Basic Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED

Successful candidate must be willing to work any shift.

Certified industrial driver or ability to get certified in a timely manner.

Ability to safely operate a powered forklift, maintain and perform daily safety inspections in regard to the clamp truck, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and perform lockout/tag-out procedures on trailers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $29.52 per hour plus shift differential (2nd /3rd shifts)
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 week per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
