Job summary

El Programa Hispano Católico seeks a Program Manager for SUN Community Schools to provide leadership across six school sites in Gresham-Barlow and David Douglas districts. You will supervise SUN staff, build school-community partnerships, and ensure culturally responsive academic support and enrichment for students and families.

Responsibilities include contract management, program quality oversight, staff development, data reporting, and alignment with funders.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, Education, Social Work or related field; 1 year experience or 5-8 years equivalent.
  • SUN Site Manager or Extended Day Coordinator experience required.
  • 1 year of supervisor experience required.
  • Experience in facilitating trainings and community presentations.
  • Budget management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Latinx/Communities of Color.
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion with confidential matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Zoom, Google Meats, Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

About The Role

The SUN Community Schools Program Manager provides leadership, oversight, and direct supervision for EPHC’s Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) and P-3 programs across six school sites in the Gresham-Barlow and David Douglas School Districts. The position ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally specific, and age-appropriate academic support, enrichment, social-emotional development, and light information and referral services for students and families.

The Program Manager directly supervises SUN Community School staff and serves as a key liaison between EPHC, school and district leadership, community partners, students, and families. This position builds and maintains strong school-community partnerships, supports staff development and implementation of EPHC policies and program practices, monitors program quality and outcomes, and ensures contractual, grant, and district obligations are met.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Contract Management & Site Leadership
  • Manage program related contracts, including:
  • SUN Community Schools
  • Early Childhood: Early Kindergarten Transition and P-3 programs
  • Other contracts and programs as assigned.
  • Oversee SUN Community School programming, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with EPHC, SUN, grant, and community requirements.
  • Monitor site operations, participation, outcomes, and program quality; address challenges and support continuous improvement.
  • Develop improvement plans to adjust program delivery as necessary.
Financial management
  • Oversee assigned staff to manage contract expenses and meet budget expectations.
  • Provide necessary information to Finance department to invoice contract expenses.
  • Supervise the administration of client assistance funds according to contract guidelines.
  • Participate in annual EPHC budget development process.
Program Compliance, Data & Evaluation
  • Oversee the completion of accurate data entry and recordkeeping (databases, electronic, and paper files) as required by law, funders, and EPHC.
  • Ensure all participant intakes, ROIs, and other required documents adhere to funder and EPHC standards/guidelines
  • Prepare all required reports, as required by funders and EPHC.
  • Develop and coordinate evaluation of assigned projects.
School & Community Partnerships
  • Maintain effective coordination and communication with assigned funder liaison and related staff.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school and district leaders, staff, families, and community partners.
  • Serve as EPHC’s liaison with school partners and represent SUN in relevant meetings and collaborations.
  • Conduct regular scheduled meetings with school principals and district liaisons.
Staff Supervision & Development
  • Lead and oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of assigned program staff.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and support SUN Site Managers.
  • Set clear expectations, monitor performance, support professional development, and address performance concerns as needed.
  • Supervise and support staff to successfully carry out their assignment and support professional development.
  • Facilitate regular program team meetings to build and maintain a strong team.
General Responsibilities
  • Attend scheduled program meetings with funders, school districts, and community.
  • Actively participate in leadership, department, and all-staff meetings.
  • Ensure EPHC’s policies and procedures are communicated and followed.
  • Address program incident reports.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, Education, Social Work, or related field AND a minimum of 1 year of experience OR the equivalent of 5-8 years of qualifying training and/or experience
  • Previous experience as a SUN Site Manager, or Extended Day Coordinator required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous supervisor experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating trainings and community presentations.
  • Budget management experience preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge working with and organizing in Latinx/Communities of Color.
  • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of Zoom, GoogleMeets, Teams, etc.
  • Must be able to organize/prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and have a high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in team setting; adapt well to dynamic work environment.
Other Requirements
  • Must be available to work afterschool-hours for program coverage (3pm-6:30pm).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends to support SUN program, parent meetings, after school events.
  • Occasional travel for trainings, community partner meetings, and funder meetings.
  • Must have driver’s license, access to vehicle and automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
  • Satisfactory results from civil, criminal, and motor vehicle background check required.
Compensation

Compensation: $66,000-$70,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.

Location & Typical Working Conditions
Community On-Site (50% of time)
  • Supporting assigned staff at school sites, covering after school programming, attending in-person trainings, community partner meetings, and funder meetings.
In office (30% of time)
  • In office work is located at EPHC's office in Gresham, OR and is required for staff meetings, department meetings, community events, and other additional duties requiring in office work.
Remote from home (20% of time)
  • This position may allow remote work from home for administrative tasks such as data entry, expense report submission, funder report writing, and some community partner and work-related virtual meetings.
Note

Remote work is dependent on performance and may be revoked at supervisors' discretion.
