Interest in our summer undergraduate fellowship has grown exponentially since then. Our fellowship seeks to remove barriers and create opportunities in the legal industry for talented individuals with diverse experiences.

The fellow functions as a critical member of our team, assisting attorneys and staff with investigating facts, briefing legal issues, analyzing evidence, and much more across a wide variety of substantive legal areas and industries. The program will also offer opportunities to see the life cycle of a litigation, observe hearings and depositions, and receive one-on-one mentorship with our attorneys.

This fellowship is a paid opportunity. The fellow will work in Lewis & Llewellyn’s San Francisco office two to three days a week for a duration of approximately 10 weeks during the summer months.

PAST FELLOW, 2024

“What stood out most to me was the mentorship opportunities that Lewis and Llewellyn provided during the Fellowship. Mainly the fact that the relationships I built during the program didn't end with the summer, and that support has continued ever since, including helping me with recommendations and preparing a professional resume specific to the legal industry. I also loved getting exposure to cases at every stage, paired with a curriculum that grounded me in the basics while still allowing me to both review and assist with complex proceedings. Further, having one-on-one conversations with nearly everyone at the firm throughout the summer gave me a real window into different career paths in law, and ultimately helped confirm that this was the right pursuit for me.”

Maia Carlson

PAST FELLOW, 2023

“From shadowing client calls and proceedings to participating in legal research, L&L's Fellowship program provided me with unique insight into life as a litigator. My favorite part of the summer was how generous the attorneys and paralegals were with their time -- several times a week, I was invited to have coffee or lunch with at least one member of the L&L team to discuss their career paths, industry insights, and advice tailored to my goals.”
