Job summary

Gamble Sands is seeking a motivated Agronomy Intern for the summer season. You will gain hands-on experience in the Agronomy and Maintenance department, focusing on turfgrass care, mowing, irrigation, chemical applications, and field operations supervision.

The role offers practical exposure to turfgrass management, equipment operation, and project work, with opportunities to lead small crews and contribute to course planning and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or enrolled in turfgrass management or related program.
• No prior experience required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physically capable of outdoor work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Turfgrass management tasks including mowing, aerification, verticutting, topdressing and rolling.
• Assist with calibration, safe handling, and application of fertilizers and pesticides.
• Assist irrigation team with hand watering, soil moisture sensing, and troubleshooting systems.
• Participate in daily course preparation and record maintenance of maintenance activities and chemical inventory.
• Opportunity to lead small crews on daily tasks or in-house projects.
