Job summary

NKSFB, LLC invites motivated students to join its Summer 2027 Tax Internship in person in Los Angeles, CA or New York City, NY. You will engage with a team-oriented Tax practice, learning tax return preparation, research, and planning specific to entertainment and wealth management clients.

As an entry-level intern, you will complete introductory coursework, participate for 8+ weeks (June 2027 – August 2027), and gain exposure to federal/state tax issues while building practical experience.

Qualifications

• Entry-level status pursuing a degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics/Business Administration with an anticipated graduation between Dec 2027 and Jun 2028.
• Completion of introductory Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting coursework.
• Internship duration of at least 8+ weeks (June 2027 – August 2027).

Responsibilities

• Prepare Returns: individual, partnership, and corporate returns, including quarterly estimates and extensions.
• Conduct Research: federal and state tax issues and present findings to the group.
• Build Foundations: gather, input, and reconcile financial data with supporting records for each return.
• Assemble Workpapers: prepare review-ready workpapers for reviewers.
• Assist with Notices: respond to IRS/state/local notices and information requests.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Prepare Returns: Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate returns, including quarterly estimates, extensions, and projections from start to finish.
• Conduct Research: Research federal and state tax issues, delving into questions faced by tax teams and presenting findings back to the group.
• Build Foundations: Gather, input, and reconcile financial data, meticulously tying each entry back to supporting records to form the accurate foundation of every return.
• Assemble Workpapers: Assemble review‑ready workpapers, understanding what reviewers look for and receiving direct feedback on your compiled work.
• Assist with Notices: Assist with responses to the IRS and state and local authorities for notices and information requests, observing firsthand how such issues are resolved.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Entry‑Level, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related business discipline, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Experience: Completion of introductory Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting coursework, and ability to participate in the internship program for a minimum of 8+ weeks (June 2027 – August 2027).
• Skills: Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; self‑motivated with excellent organization skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and ability to multi‑task; exceptional interpersonal skills; friendly and professional demeanor; ability to work well with a team.
• Bonus: On track to meet CPA licensing educational requirements upon graduation; completion of tax coursework and Intermediate Accounting coursework.
