Job summary

The Groden Network "Your Autism Experts" is seeking a Special Education Substitute Teacher for their RIDE-approved classroom in Providence. This role is designed for individuals passionate about supporting young learners with disabilities, providing a nurturing environment for students aged 14-21.

With a small class size of no more than 10 students, the teacher will lead individualized programs, develop IEP goals, and ensure engaging learning experiences. An emphasis on collaboration with specialists and training opportunities is offered.

The position is scheduled from July 27, 2026, to August 21, 2026, at a daily rate of $186.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Rhode Island Department of Education certification in Severe/Profound Special Education.
• At least one year of experience as a special education teacher is preferred.

We are looking for a Special Education Substitute Teacher for the summer for our RIDE‑approved classroom in Providence with the age group being 14-21 year-old students (Near Hope Street on the East Side of Providence). This established program serves young learners with disabilities in a nurturing, innovative, and highly individualized environment—with a maximum of just ten students.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:15AM-3:30PM

Timeframe Needed: July 27, 2026 - August 21, 2026

Rate of Pay: $186 per day

Your Impact

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Rhode Island Department of Education certification in either Severe/Profound Special Education (We will consider Emergency Certifications)
• At least one year of experience as a special education teacher is preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs
• CPR/First Aid Certification (We provide training if needed)
• Safety Care Training (We provide training if needed)
