Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Simsbury, CT, offers a 12-week Production Planner Intern program for summer 2027. You will work with Energetics Operations to support production schedules, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The internship provides real-world projects, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate with Production, Material Control, Supply Chain, and Quality teams while gaining hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or engineering.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and interest in manufacturing, supply chain or ERP/MRP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with tracking inventory movements and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Identify material requirements and potential shortages impacting production schedules.
Support creation, tracking, and prioritization of shop orders and material kits.
Coordinate with Production, Material Control, Supply Chain, Quality and other cross-functional teams to support material flow.
Maintain Kanban inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve material availability.
