Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Brewton, Alabama, is recruiting a Process Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term at our containerboard mill. The intern will contribute to safety, environmental compliance, data and process analysis in a high-energy, dynamic setting.

You will apply problem-solving skills to safely improve productivity and reduce cost through process and equipment optimization projects, while engaging operators to expand technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Chemical Engineering program at an accredited university.
• Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS.
• Experience with data analytics software (Minitab).
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Apply PBM philosophy to achieve results.
• Provide data analytics and troubleshooting skills.
• Contribute to safety and environmental excellence via hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Optimizers on improvement projects for the department.
• Drive process and equipment modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Engage operators to expand technical knowledge.
