Job summary

Corning is inviting a Polymer Engineering intern for Summer 2027 in Corning, NY. You will support projects on polymer materials, adhesives, coatings, and manufacturing processes, performing lab testing and data analysis.

This 10–12 week internship includes housing and travel assistance, a meaningful final project presentation, weekly tech talks, and opportunities to collaborate with engineers and scientists on real-world challenges.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
Minimum of two years completed toward degree.
Available for a 10-12 week summer internship.
Willing to work at the posted job location.

Responsibilities

Support laboratory investigations involving polymer materials, adhesives, coatings, and manufacturing materials
Prepare samples and conduct material characterization testing
Assist with experimental planning, execution, and data collection
Analyze experimental results and identify trends
Develop a fundamental understanding of material structure-property relationships
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve technical problems
Document findings through technical reports and presentations
Communicate project progress and recommendations to the project team
