Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is offering a paid Summer Internship for a Machine Learning (Computer Vision) role. The 12-week, onsite program provides hands-on experience in aircraft systems, UAVs, and autonomous perception.

Interns collaborate with AV team members on detection, localization, and tracking projects within a dynamic R&D setting. Applicants should be enrolled in a relevant BS program, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be prepared to relocate for possible stipends.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Computer Vision, ML, CS, or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0; preference for junior year or above.
• Exposure to ML and computer vision concepts is required.

Responsibilities

• Support development of computer vision and ML algorithms for detection, classification, localization, and tracking.
• Assist in integrating ML algorithms into aircraft systems and testing.
• Analyze data distributions and validate model performance with metrics.
• Contribute to data preparation, cleaning, and transformation tasks.
• Collaborate with small design teams across R&D programs.
