Job summary

The José Valdés Math Foundation is seeking a dedicated Teacher for a six-week summer program in San Jose, CA or Palo Alto, CA. You will deliver math lessons, develop comprehensive plans, and foster an inclusive, engaging learning environment for students from low-income families.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Mathematics (Master's preferred), a valid teaching credential, and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching credential or licensure in mathematics or related subject area.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Enthusiasm for working with students during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective mathematics lessons to students based on the provided curriculum, ensuring alignment with grade-level standards and objectives.
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments to promote student learning and achievement.
• Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning, while maintaining discipline and order among students.
• Tailor classroom instruction to meet diverse needs, providing support and enrichment opportunities as necessary.
• Regularly assess student performance and progress, provide feedback to students and parents, and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance, providing reports to program administrators as required.
