Job summary

Carrier is seeking a motivated Chemical Materials Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at the CCS HQ in Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on testing, documentation, and collaboration with engineers to support product and process improvements.

Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s program with a 3.0+ GPA and must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. Prior internship experience is a plus, and familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field (Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering).
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of testing with measurements of test solutions, environmental conditions, and equipment status.
• Organize test documents and provide summarized reports to engineers or internal customers.
• Conduct sample preparation, metallography, and microscopy of tested samples as needed.
• Coordinate documentation, return to customer, and storage of tested samples.
• Assist in continuous improvement efforts to increase test reliability and acceleration.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow PPE requirements.
