Job summary

Chapman and Cutler LLP in Chicago is seeking a motivated Marketing Intern for Summer 2027. Rising junior (class of 2028) will assist on industry research, events, and social media, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Managers. Program runs eight weeks with potential for extended employment after graduation.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in a professional services marketing team, supporting client engagement and branding initiatives within a law-firm context.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in Chicago the summer between junior and senior undergraduate year; on track to complete bachelor's degree.
• Interest in the financial services and legal industries is essential, but no finance or law firm experience required.
• Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Dependability, adaptability, problem-solving; strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data, assess implications, and make recommendations.
• Strong client service attitude.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented and meeting tight deadlines.
• Committed to following all Firm policies and information security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed client and competitive intelligence briefings/reports and summarizes results in a visually stimulating and cohesive manner.
• Collaborates with marketing team members and other departments to support all aspects of client facing and selected internal/special events, including virtual events, videos, and data quality management for the firm's relationship database.
• Helps prepare social media posts and identify trends for purposes of client and recruiting engagement and brand recognition.
• Monitors industry and market (law and non-law) trends and best practices with respect to client engagement and competitive intelligence.
