Job summary

National Gypsum Company is offering a paid Manufacturing Intern summer program for May 2027. The role provides hands-on experience in production, quality control, process improvement, and safety, with stipend eligibility in addition to hourly pay.

Interns will work under experienced professionals, support cross-functional teams, and participate in training to develop leadership and manufacturing process skills in a dynamic facility environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or manufacturing.
• Strong coursework in manufacturing processes or operations management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to collaborate with all management levels and hourly staff.
• Willing to travel up to 10% during internship.
• Physical ability to access plant areas and lift 50 lbs.
• Hybrid work is ineligible.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day manufacturing operations under guidance.
• Participate in production and manufacturing activities.
• Work with safety, quality, and production on concerns and opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Document and analyze data related to production and quality metrics.
• Engage in training sessions and workshops to expand knowledge.
• Shadow management roles and perform hands-on learning activities.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
