Job summary

Children's Law Center of California (CLC) in California offers a Summer Law Clerk 2027 program. Law clerks work full-time for 10 weeks, learning through one-on-one assignments with licensed attorneys on child welfare matters and court procedures.

Clerks observe juvenile court proceeding, assist with legal research, draft motions, and engage in client interviews. PTLS certification opportunities and comprehensive training are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school.
• California address at onboarding.
• Willing to work full-time in-person for 10 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with clients under attorney supervision.
• Attend daily juvenile court hearings and related proceedings.
• Communicate with attorneys regarding caseloads and updates.
• Collaborate with social workers, attorneys and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical obligations.
