Job summary

Allegion Canada Inc. invites applications for the Summer Intern – Software Operations Engineer role in Carmel, IN. You will help build integrations, automations, and dashboards to improve visibility and support for software systems.

The internship targets students pursuing CS/SE/IS/Data Analytics with basic programming knowledge and interest in troubleshooting and automation. On-site role in Carmel, Indiana with exposure to authentication, billing, and account workflows.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
• Familiarity with APIs, logs, SQL, or data visualization through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
• Demonstrated interest in troubleshooting, automation, and understanding how software systems operate.
• Experience with monitoring, dashboarding, source control, identity management, or billing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test integrations using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven workflows.
• Build lightweight automations that reduce manual investigation and accelerate issue resolution.
• Analyze logs and system events to identify recurring issues, unusual patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Improve incident triage by connecting monitoring, ticketing, and communication workflows.
• Help improve user authentication, access management, and account lifecycle processes.
• Support subscription and billing workflows by investigating data discrepancies and integration issues.
• Build reports and dashboards that turn operational, subscription, and system data into actionable insights.
• Document integration behavior, troubleshooting procedures, and implemented solutions.
