Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Internship at LPLoffershands-on experience across a broad range of cybersecurity domains, including cloud security, network security, identity and access management (IAM), application security, and cyber risk management. Interns will support key cybersecurity operations such as threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and security compliance while developing practical experience with enterprise-grade security tools, technologies, and processes. This roleprovidesa unique opportunity to build foundational cybersecurity skills while contributing to the protection of critical business systems and data.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security tools, dashboards, and alerts toidentifypotential threats, vulnerabilities, or suspicious activity

Requirements

• Currentlypursuinga bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• Ability to work on-site in an LPLprimaryoffice location

• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including authentication, encryption, access control,and network security

Preferences

• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies and solutions

• Exposure to cybersecurity concepts and tools, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), endpoint security, and cloud security

• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)

• Participation in cybersecurity clubs, Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions, or home lab projects

• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

• Coursework in cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, risk management, or secure softwaredevelopment

• Interestin one or more cybersecurity domains, including security engineering, threat detection, incidentresponse, penetration testing, cloud security, application security, IAM, or cyber risk management

Summer Internship Schedule

• Full - time position for 10 weeks in the summer of 2027; Monday through Friday, working 40 hours a week during business operating hours.
• Internship dates: 6/1/2027 – 8/6/2027

Hourly Rate
