Qualifications

Full-time student with minimum 2.5 GPA.
Firm grasp of Web design software and techniques.

Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
Must be available to start work June 5, 2026.

Responsibilities

Attend weekly meetings with the Supervisor and Staff Writers.
Work in the office no less than 15 hours weekly, with 8 hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mon-Fri.
Publish Branding Iron articles and photographs on the website at least twice weekly.
Post multimedia content (photo galleries, SoundSlides, audio, video, podcasts).
Collaborate with Student Media advertising sales to publish paid ads.
Delegate work to assistants and ensure timely content delivery.
Manage Branding Iron social media accounts.
Attend Student Media Board meetings as ex-officio member when needed.
Serve as liaison to adviser, sales manager, and department.
Oversee production operations and deadlines scheduling.
