Interns will engage in real-world safety tasks, attend Toolbox meetings, and support site safety operations across projects. Applicants should be prepared to relocate or commute for the internship duration.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior standing pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or related major.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career in Construction Safety.
• General knowledge of safety and construction principles/processes.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and McCarthy employees, conducting weekly Toolbox meetings and enforcing safety guidelines.
• Ensure procedures in the Site-Specific Safety Manual are implemented on the project site.
• Assist with issuing new hire safety documents and immersion of new employees into the McCarthy safety culture.
• Coordinate with project supervision to ensure PPE, safety materials, and first-aid supplies are available and posted.
• Participate in investigating accidents, identify root causes, and help implement corrective measures including safety/health inspections.
