Job summary

TW Constructors offers a Missouri State University internship where students shadow project engineers, managers, estimators, and safety professionals. You will participate in site visits, hands-on tasks, budgeting, scheduling, and safety training, supporting projects from concept to closeout.

As an intern, you’ll learn by doing on national projects, with guidance to develop leadership skills and a strong safety-first mindset within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
  • Foundational understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, or self-perform work is a plus.
  • Prior internship or project engineering experience on projects valued at $5 million+ (design-build preferred).
  • Committed to upholding and promoting a Safety-First culture.
  • Willing to travel; projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to support project success.
  • Collaborate with engineers and planners to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Support the creation of accurate project forecasts and budgets.
  • Oversee cost management, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation.
  • Take ownership of project execution and delivery.
  • Contribute to preconstruction planning, quality assurance, and safety initiatives.
  • Assist senior project managers in overseeing construction activities.
  • You will have leadership and guidance to support project teams throughout all phases.
