Job summary

Alcon is seeking multiple talented and motivated Chemistry, Materials & Life Sciences Interns to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program across several U.S. locations, including Johns Creek, Goleta, Lake Forest, Fort Worth, and Houston.

Interns will gain meaningful industry experience and collaborate with professionals while building technical skills. Participants will receive coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities and contribute to projects in lab research, polymer science,

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited university for at least one semester prior to internship and at least one semester after.
Pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer/materials science, biology, or related major.
Academic GPA 2.8/4.0 minimum.
Demonstrated leadership in activities/projects.
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or CPT accepted for F1 visa.

Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory experiments supporting chemistry research and materials analysis.
Design and characterize polymers for next‑generation lens materials and care products.
Develop analytical methods for ophthalmic product and material characterization.
Process tissue samples and support fluorometric/immunoassays and molecular analyses.
Support GMP R&D activities related to clinical manufacturing processes and equipment.
