Job summary

JCC Greater Boston is hiring Assistant Division Leaders / Unit Heads for its summer camp program. You will mentor staff, manage campers, and partner with leadership to ensure a safe, joyful experience. Roles may cover grades K-8 and specialty areas such as arts, sports, STEM, or theater.

The position runs 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday, for nine weeks with a starting pay rate of $18 per hour. We offer bus access from multiple nearby towns, a supportive work environment, and opportunities to

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• College degree/concentration or equivalent experience in Education or similar field preferred.
• 1+ season (summer camp or equivalent) experience teaching or program planning for children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead age-appropriate activities in your specialty area.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during activities.
• Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages skill-building and exploration.
• Work with counselors and camp leadership to provide a cohesive camper experience.
• Maintain, organize, and request supplies and equipment.
• Adapt activities for diverse campers’ needs.
• Support camp events and large-group programming as assigned.
• Assist with overall camp operations as needed (drop-off/pick-up, transitions, lunch, supervision).
