Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in New Jersey is seeking an Instructor to craft and deliver a hands-on, multi-activity summer program for campers. Under the Summer Camp Supervisor and FYD Managers, you will develop curriculum in Visual/Performing Arts, Aquatics, Sports, or Outdoor Adventure and guide Camp Counselors.

You will plan daily activities for up to 30 children, supervise staff, and ensure safety and enrichment while upholding the center's mission.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits with at least 4 education/content-area classes (e.g., character education, sports, arts, etc.).
• Proven teaching/coaching experience is required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Experience working with children of varied ages in an urban setting is required.
• Reliable, able to commit to the entire summer camp season.
• Able to pass background checks and TB test and provide three professional references.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and publish curriculum for Summer Camp Counselors; identify learning objectives.
• Actively instruct groups of up to 30 students and supervise counselors.
• Maintain cleanliness, enforce rules, and communicate with Camp Leaders; attend meetings and trainings.
