Overview

Position: Group Exercise Instructor - Aqua Fitness Instructor, Pilates (evenings), Zumba (Saturdays), Step Aerobics, yoga, H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training)

Location/Dept: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA

Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Part Time - Must be willing and able to work with flexibility as required in performance of duties, or as requested to support the pre-opening and ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Reporting Relationship: Fitness and Recreation Manager

Salary: $30.00-$40.00
Grade: 79

Responsibilities

The Group Exercise Instructor provides innovative, safe, and fun group exercise classes for Kroc Center members and guests. The use of superior customer service in providing appropriate services to all members and guests is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of Center operation, as needed and assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National group exercise certification required (through one or more of the following organizations: ACE, AFAA, ACSM).
• Experience in performing class instruction in a group exercise setting.
• Current CPR/AED required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required, including the ability to motivate individuals to exercise.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must have ability to work and relate well with people.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
• As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter.
• Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
• Must possess understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC.
