Job summary

CAMBA is looking for an Assistant Youth Facilitator in New York to support youth programs and ensure safety and engagement. You will assist in daily setup, monitor attendance, and help participants follow guidelines to foster a positive learning environment.

You will supervise participants, operate learning aids, and assist leaders with enrichment activities. The role requires adaptability as tasks evolve to meet program needs within a supportive team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily attendance tracking and remind participants of rules and expectations.
• Set up classrooms and activities before and after sessions, distribute materials and equipment.
• Supervise participants in hallways, restrooms, and classrooms to maintain a safe environment.
• Operate learning aids such as projectors or recording devices as needed.
• Support program leaders and specialists in implementing enrichment sessions.

What Does The Assistant Youth Facilitator Do

• Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
• Comply with all Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies to protect the confidentiality of individual health information.
• Ensure the safety and security of all participants by following program protocols and procedures, including supervision, accident and incident reporting.
• Participate in daily Five-Minute Meetings (FMM) before the start of each session to review the day’s plan and assigned responsibilities.
• Support participants in following program guidelines and expectations.
• Assist program leaders and specialists in implementing and documenting program-wide incentive systems.
• Supervise participants in hallways, restrooms, and classrooms to maintain a safe environment.
• Take daily attendance and assist with tracking participant engagement.
• Help with classroom and activity setup before and after sessions.
• Distribute, collect, and store instructional materials, sports equipment, and games.
• Support individuals or groups in completing activities to reinforce learning concepts.
• Follow procedures for arrival and dismissal, snack distribution, transitions, and trip guidelines.
• Assist in the facilitation of club activities and enrichment sessions.
• Operate learning aids such as projectors, recorders, or other instructional technology.
• Prepare and organize materials and supplies for activities as needed.
• Adjust to evolving program needs and take on additional tasks as assigned.
• Tasks may be modified, expanded, and/or assigned over time to meet program needs.
