Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks is seeking a First Catch Intern for statewide aquatic education programming. You will travel with the First Catch Center trailer, plan and evaluate activities, and deliver programs in state parks and communities across South Dakota.

The role requires current enrollment as a student and willingness to work evenings and weekends, with training provided. Strong fishing experience and independent work are valued traits for success.

Qualifications

• Must be a current part-time or full-time student in the upcoming or immediately preceding semester.
• Prefer candidates with experience in education, outreach, or related degree area.
• Strong fishing experience and ability to work independently.
• Comfort with travel and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate statewide aquatic education programming.
• Work remotely and travel around the state with the First Catch Center trailer.
• Assist with evening and weekend programs at state parks and communities.
• Maintain and care for education equipment in the trailer.
