Job summary

WinField United is seeking a Summer Research Technician Intern to assist Answer Plot crews across locations in the Midwest. The role focuses on agronomic plot management, equipment prep and data collection to support local field trials from March through August.

You will handle foliar applications, sample collection, GIS tasks, and safety compliance while learning crop growth fundamentals and precision ag technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
• Pesticide Applicator license required by start date or within 2 weeks of hire.
• Willingness to learn regional crop growth and development.
• Technical knowledge in agronomy, ag technology, and crop sciences preferred.
• Basic math skills, attentive to detail, able to deliver results without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist Answer Plot crews with managing regional plots and field operations.
• Prepare equipment and perform seed prep, mapping, and GIS tasks.
• Conduct foliar applications with backpack sprayer and collect tissue samples and other data.
• Accurately mix and apply fertilizer and chemicals per blend sheet.
• Work safely following rules and PPE requirements.
• Stay informed on agronomic products and precision agriculture technologies.
