Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking an Public Sector Advisory Intern to gain hands-on consulting experience and build a professional network with a coast-to-coast firm.

You will work on client engagements, receive on-the-job training, and participate in orientation and development programs designed to build your client service and technical skills for a strong foundation now and tomorrow.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public policy, public administration, MPA, MPP, or a related field.
  • Active pursuit of CPA licensure a plus.
  • Must have at least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Successful candidates will have no prior professional experience; internship or student involvement is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and execute meaningful work engagements that have an impact on the business.
  • Participate in on-the-job training through real work engagements translating academics to the professional environment.
  • Join intern orientation and development programs to contribute to client engagements.
  • Perform internal control risk, operations, and organizational reviews.
  • Collaborate with staff, seniors, managers and partners with specialized experience within the public sector.
  • Engage with a variety of public sector clients including municipal governments and school districts.

Successful candidates will be:



  • Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public policy, public administration, MPA, MPP, or a related field

  • Active pursuit of CPA licensure a plus

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.


Successful candidates will have:



  • No prior professional experience is required; however relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization desired

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel

  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving

  • Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability

  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

The pay rate range for this job position is $23.75 to $79.80. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
