Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Summer 2027 Production Business Intelligence Intern to join our team in Torrance, CA. You will analyze datasets, build robust data tools, and help maintain data integrity across the company, working with Excel, Python, SQL, and BI platforms.

The 12-week internship focuses on data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to ongoing BI initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Purpose

As a Production Business Intelligence at Divergent Technologies Inc., you'll be a vital part of a dynamic team that thrives on solving complex problems through data-driven insights. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem solver who can take projects from start to finish with increasing autonomy. In this role you can expect to work with data and stakeholders across the organization as we continue to mature as a data-driven organization.

The Role

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Extract, transform, and analyze datasets using cutting-edge BI tools and methodologies.
• Create robust and well documented code and data infrastructure that can provide long-term value.

Manage Company-Wide Business Intelligence Assets:

• Build and improve data tools to ensure clean and consistent data access for stakeholders across the company.
• Monitor and maintain existing data assets to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and repair assets as issues arise.

Data Integrity Analysis and Exception Reporting:

• Take ownership of existing data tools to create enduring solutions to proactively maintain healthy and clean data assets.
• Create scalable, automated exception reports to notify stakeholders of issues in source data systems

Basic Qualifications

Education: Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Experience in Excel, Python, SQL. Familiarity with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Project Management: Proven ability to drive projects from start to finish, and good judgement on when to seek solutions independently and when to seek guidance.

Communication Excellence: Ability to collect business requirements accurately and completely from stakeholders and articulate findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to stakeholders.

Growth Mindset: Arriving with a desire to learn, willingness to engage with new topics, and desire to provide longterm value versus "just" completing projects.

Pay Range

$39 - $45 USD
