TTM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to assist in implementing process improvements, automation, and cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing. This 12-14 week program offers exposure to design for manufacturability and cross-functional collaboration.

Scope

The Process Engineering Intern will work for 12-14 weeks to help implement process improvements, including, but not limited to, automation and robotics integration. Duties include design, layout, and improvement of assigned processes, monitoring overall process performance and developing solutions to a broad range of technical issues. The Process Engineering Intern will collaborate across the organization on efforts involving design for manufacturability and cost savings.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively in a team to implement manufacturing process improvements and automation
  • Collaborate with program mentors and champions to identify best methods for automating processes
  • Utilizes a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and to improve yields
  • Initiates and/or updates documentation of processes into work instructions, training guides and/or certification tests
  • Provide regular (weekly) updates to program coordinator and corporate leads
  • Compares existing manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and industry best practices and proposes appropriate improvements.
  • Maintains knowledge on current industry standards
  • Leads capital project efforts to resolve production capacity and technology capability issues
  • Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team and participate in a corporate wide trade show to executives and cross-functional leaders
  • Participates in internal design reviews to ensure compatibility of processing techniques to meet customer needs
  • Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
Essential Knowledge and Skills
  • Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Project management and structured problem solving with the ability to make data-based and ethical decisions
  • Eagerness to learn quickly
  • Capability for designing and analyzing experiments utilizing statistical tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including strong verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams
Education and Experience
  • Current college junior earning Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in applying engineering concepts to solve problems.
  • Previous internship experience desired.
Compensation

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $41,454 - $65,524. Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
