Job summary

QTS Data Centers is offering a summer internship program in Atlanta, GA. Interns gain hands-on experience in the data center industry with weekly lunch and learns, orientation, and site activities.

The Enterprise Applications Intern will support the Technology team in leveraging Office 365, Power Automate, Copilot, SharePoint and more to bolster collaboration and access management. This role includes procurement, security monitoring, and agile software development tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with Office Suite and data tools like Excel for budgeting and analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Technology team with day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
• Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning solutions.
• Work on technology procurement and delivery processes with procurement team.
• Monitor status and availability of in-production technologies.
• Respond to break-fix issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop and populate new database structures.
• Track and resolve security vulnerabilities and risks.
• Define and track agile development of software features requested by the business.
• Observe deployments within a critical infrastructure environment.

Job description

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

The Enterprise Applications Intern will help staff leverage the power of Microsoft Suite tools such as Office365, Power Automate, Copilot, SharePoint and more. You will be empowering the staff to become more collaborative, efficient, and help control access management.

• Assist the Technology team with day-to-day activities and responsibilities.

• Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning solutions.

• Work on technology procurement and delivery processes with the strategic procurement team.

• Monitor the status and availability of in-production technologies.

• Respond to break-fix issues and coordinate long-term corrective actions.

• Develop and populate new database structures.

• Track and resolve security vulnerabilities and associated risks.

• Define and track agile development of software features requested by the business.

• Further education by observing all aspects of technology and control system deployments within a critical infrastructure environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:

• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.

• Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.

• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
