Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in Atlanta, GA is seeking an InfoAssurance and Cybersecurity Intern to support IT audit, cybersecurity, privacy and control engagements while learning industry standards. You are a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or Mathematics with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

You may pursue CPA, CISA, CISSP and related credentials.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in information security, information systems, computer science, accounting or mathematics.
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher preferred but not required.
• Interest in technology risk management and IT governance principles.
• Willing to pursue CPA, CISA, CISSP or related designations.

Responsibilities

• Support technology, cybersecurity, privacy and general control audit/advisory engagements and technical assessments.
• Identify cybersecurity control weaknesses, gaps, vulnerabilities and audit exceptions with recommendations.
• Support strong work papers and participation in report drafting.
• Communicate results to leadership and maintain client focus.
• Demonstrate strong project management, multitasking and attention to detail.
• Conduct cyber services including readiness assessments, vulnerability assessments, pen tests, incident response and governance/compliance examinations.

Our InfoAssurance and Cybersecurity team serves our Audit, Tax and Advisory practice areas across the firm to provide IT Audit, consulting, and compliance services in the areas of:

• NIST Cybersecurity Framework

• NIST 800-171
• NIST 800-53 (FISMA, FedRAMP, etc.)

As an InfoAssurance and Cybersecurity Intern you will:

• You will support the performance of technology, cybersecurity, privacy and general control audit/advisory engagements, in addition to technical cybersecurity assessments.
• Under supervision of the Cybersecurity/Risk Accounting & Advisory Services (RAAS) Manager and Partner, you will help identify cybersecurity control weaknesses, design gaps, vulnerabilities, audit exceptions and inefficiencies with appropriate recommendations to management.
• Support strong work papers conforming to the firm's methodology/standards and participation in report drafting.
• Identify and communicate results to leadership.
• Maintain a strong client focus by understanding the client’s business needs while developing productive working relationships with client personnel in order to accomplish audit objectives.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
• Conducting cyber services in the areas such as: Cybersecurity Readiness Assessments Vulnerability Assessments Attack & Penetration Studies Incident Response Cybersecurity Governance Risk & Compliance Examinations.

What you bring to the role:

• Juniors or seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or Mathematics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required
• Interest in technology risk management and IT governance principles
• Willing to pursue relevant professional designations (ex. CPA, CISA, CISSP, etc.)

Pay Range: $34.00 - $39.00
