Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a division of General Dynamics, invites students to join the Summer 2027 Flight Test Engineer Collegiate Associate Intern program in Savannah, GA. You will contribute to real-world aircraft testing, work with engineering teams, and tour state-of-the-art facilities.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering programs with a 3.0+ GPA, and can work on-site during May 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in a relevant engineering degree (aerospace/mechanical/electrical/systems).
• Available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during Summer 2027.
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher, listed on resume.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and complete discrete engineering tasks on schedule.
• Apply engineering knowledge to resolve aircraft related issues.
• Support prototype and test activities during Gulfstream product lifecycles.
• Generate and analyze technical test data.
• Interface with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Develop knowledge of technical principles in assigned field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the position

Gulfstream engineering interns in Innovation, Engineering and Flight are an integral part of the engineering staff, contributing to projects that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule.
• Using company procedures, apply engineering knowledge to resolve aircraft related issues.
• Support component and full-scale aircraft prototype and test activities during the lifecycle of Gulfstream products.
• Generate and analyze miscellaneous technical test data.
• Interface with various internal organizations such as Production Engineering, Completions Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Support and Procurement as well as external suppliers.
• Develop knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Other Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in one of the following disciplines:
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
• Must be available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during the Summer 2027 semester, beginning in May 2027.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 (without rounding); must be listed on resume.

Academic or project experience in one or more of the following areas

• Aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight controls, flutter, loads, or aerodynamics
• Avionics
• Electrical systems
• Powerplant engineering
• Mechanical systems

Preferred Experience

• Experience with MATLAB, or Python
• Experience with data analysis
