Job summary

Flint Hills Resources, a Koch company, is hiring for Summer 2027 Electrical Engineering Interns at the Rosemount, MN refinery. In this 12-week in-person internship, you will explore high and low voltage electrical equipment, instrumentation, transmitters, control valves, and control loops while focusing on reliability, performance and troubleshooting.

Interns work on individual projects with mentors and gain exposure to Koch Industries, Principle Based Management, and the local community.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4 year degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering
• Eligible for full-time employment during or before Summer 2028
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real-world projects on high/low voltage electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Participate in the 12-week in-person internship at the Rosemount refinery and work with mentors on assigned projects

FHR interns collaborate within our teams on real life projects and challenges. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll invest in your future while learning about various high and low voltage electrical equipment or instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, control loops, etc...) focusing on reliability, performance and troubleshooting situations.. Interns are assigned individual projects as well as mentors to help them pave their way to success. Our 12-week in-person internships located at our refineries offer you a first‑hand look at the opportunities available to you in the industry as well as our company.

What You Will Do

At FHR, interns gain real-world, hands‑on experience, with the opportunity to tackle significant projects, problem‑solve, and take ownership of their work.Alongside your day‑to‑day role, the FHR Intern Program offers an opportunity to learn more about Koch Industries, our people, Principle Based Management, and the local community you will be working in, all while growing your network. Through weekly learning sessions, location‑specific programming, and professional development, we aim to help every individual grow and learn how they can best contribute. This 12‑week program will allow you to experience Life at Koch, as you start your career and go anywhere within our network of companies.
