Job summary

Ulteig is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to join the AISP team. Interns will gain hands-on experience on client projects in power and renewables, under mentorship, and develop both technical and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Applicants should be pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree, have at least 2 years of study completed, and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years completed towards earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Coursework or interest in electrical power systems is strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to follow direction
  • Must be available to work full-time during Summer 2027
  • Possibility to continue internship through the school year based on performance
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers on projects related to substation SCADA, network integration, and relay settings design
  • Assist in preparation of technical deliverables and design packages for utility/renewable clients
  • Receive mentorship to complete tasks and contribute to project success
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to expand power systems understanding
  • Collaborate with engineers to meet deadlines and maintain quality
  • Potential site visits and hands-on exposure to operational systems may be available

The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Interns to join our Automation, Integration & System Protection (AISP) team for Summer 2027. This internship offers the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges in the power and renewables sectors. Interns will gain hands-on experience working on client projects while building both technical and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Support engineers on a variety of projects related to substation SCADA, network integration, and/or relay settings design
  • Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables, documentation, and design packages for utility and renewable clients
  • Receive detailed instruction and mentorship to complete assigned tasks while contributing to project success
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to expand your understanding of power systems engineering
  • Collaborate with engineering professionals to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality work
  • Potential opportunities for site visits and hands-on exposure to operational systems may be available

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $28- $30/hr.
