D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Construction Intern . The internship program is designed to provide students with hands‑on experience, professional development, and exposure to career opportunities within D.R. Horton, its affiliated business functions, and the homebuilding and homebuying process. Interns are assigned to a primary department or functional area and gain experience through departmental rotations, project work, administrative support, research, reporting, training, office and field‑based activities, jobsite observation, systems support, and other learning opportunities based on departmental needs, location, and business priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function
Assist with department‑specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs assigned
Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments to gain an understanding of how various areas of the Company support homebuilding, homebuying, business operations, and the overall customer experience
Participate in training programs, meetings, departmental rotations, and other learning opportunities designed to enhance knowledge of the Company, assigned function, and potential career paths
Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses that may lead to future full‑time employment following graduation
Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner that supports customers and contributes to the Company’s reputation and success
Ability to work overtime
Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel, as business needs require
Currently enrolled in an accredited four‑year college or university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated
Pursuing a degree or coursework related to the assigned internship area, including but not limited to business, technology, finance, construction, real estate, human resources, marketing, communications, operations, or other relevant fields
Demonstrated interest in learning about career opportunities within homebuilding, financial services, land development, corporate operations, technology, customer service, or other D.R. Horton business functions
Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, ask questions, and contribute in a professional team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, customers, and business partners
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow instructions in a fast‑paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn new software, systems, and processes as needed
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to adapt to varying work environments, including office, field, jobsite, corporate, remote, or hybrid settings, depending on the internship assignment.
