Job summary

Ulteig seeks Civil Engineer Interns to join our Renewables team, supporting design and development of utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects. Interns gain hands-on experience under experienced professionals, with clear expectations and real-world project contribution in the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering with at least two years of coursework by Summer 2027.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
• Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and preparing development and construction plans for wind, solar, and BESS projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians across disciplines on multiple active projects.
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design and plan production.
• Support preparation of design deliverables including plans, reports, and permit documentation.
• Participate in developing permitting applications for local, state, and federal review.
• Gain exposure to regulatory frameworks and standards in renewable civil design.
• Perform engineering calculations, develop standard details, and assist in drafting drawings.
• May assist in field visits to support data collection or site assessments.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in engineering design while working under the close guidance of experienced professionals. Interns receive detailed instruction, clear expectations, and the chance to contribute to real‑world projects that support the energy transition.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the design and preparation of development and construction plans for large‑scale wind, solar, and BESS renewable energy projects
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians across disciplines on multiple active projects
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design and plan production
• Support the preparation of design deliverables, including plans, reports, and permit documentation
• Participate in the development of permitting applications for local, state, and federal review
• Gain exposure to regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to civil design in the renewable energy sector
• Perform engineering calculations, develop standard details, and assist in the preparation of technical drawings
• May assist in field visits to support data collection or site assessments, depending on project needs

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $25-$27/hr. *
