Job summary

FNB Corporation in Pittsburgh invites college students to join our Capital Markets internship to gain hands-on experience across Loan Syndications, Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets and Public Finance Underwriting on the trading floor.

Interns will shadow professionals, prepare materials, and have opportunities to interview for a full-time development program after graduation. Paid internship with monitored assignments and learning objectives.

Qualifications

• Must be officially enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor program.
• Major in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or IT preferred.
• Interest in capital markets and financial services is expected.

Responsibilities

• Learn and shadow Derivatives and FX sales teams.
• Assist in creating client pitchbooks and research materials.
• Rotate through Finance, Marketing, HR, Project Mgmt and Accounting teams.
• Engage in Bloomberg terminal research and data gathering.
• Contribute to economic write-ups and event coverage.

Internship Overview/Summary

The purpose of this internship is to give a college student the opportunity to experience different aspects of Capital Markets at FNB. Capital Markets teams include:

• Loan Syndications (including Real Estate Loan Syndications and Commercial and Industrial Loan Syndications)
• Interest Rate Derivatives
• Foreign Exchange
• Public Finance Underwriting
• Debt Capital Markets

In the Capital Markets intern role, you have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of business, finance, and economics to real world projects with the various Capital Markets groups. During this experience you will gain practical, challenging and meaningful on-the-job work experience working on the trading floor at an organization which is continuously recognized as a Top Workplace and Best Place to Work. Interns will have the opportunity at the end of the summer to interview for a full-time position with the bank’s development program following graduation.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

• Shadow Derivatives and FX sales professionals on their weekly activities.
• Help prepare pitchbooks for actual client presentations.
• Work on various projects with the Syndications, Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, FX, and Public Finance Underwriting teams.
• Use the shared Bloomberg terminal for research and presentation data.
• Assist in preparation of write-ups for various economic events and news.
• Participate and attend FNB related events/trainings that are scheduled for all Summer Interns.

Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities

Opportunities are based on assigned department, possible examples include organizational structures, business etiquette, interpersonal/conflict resolution/sales/negotiation skills, industry information, products and services and functional responsibilities for various Bank departments.

Potential examples are based on the department assigned but can include pricing decisions, financial analysis, qualitative analysis, credit risk mitigation, identifying borrowing needs, project timelines and marketing plans.

Flex style to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group and large-group settings. Possible examples include business meetings, sales calls, training sessions, email communication and conference calls.
