Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is offering a 10-week summer internship in Phoenix, designed for undergraduates in related fields. You will contribute to risk management, reporting, and process improvements while gaining exposure to multiple business lines and a structured mentorship program.

You’ll perform data-driven analysis, assist in building performance metrics, and participate in automation initiatives to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student enrolled in a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
• Interest in the Commercial Business Banking industry.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging projects in your area of study within the Operational Risk & Reporting team.
• Support strategic initiatives, employee development, and risk management across multiple verticals.
• Develop and drive performance metrics and line of business reporting.
• Conduct physical and virtual branch design assessments and test procedures and controls.
• Manage inventory and administration of procedures and Risk Control Inventory.
• Oversee management action plans for issue and audit remediation and fraud engagement.
• Design and implement automation solutions to streamline operations.
• Coordinate line of business projects and intake processes for alignment with goals.
• Work with mentors and professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting.
