Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks an Application Development Internship for Summer 2027 in Lowell, Arkansas. Under routine supervision, you will participate in engineering and technology tasks as part of an assigned team and gain exposure to the software development lifecycle.

This internship runs up to 40 hours per week during the summer, offering hands-on project work and mentorship from senior engineers to grow programming, debugging, and automation skills in the transportation domain.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a technology degree program (CS, CE, IT or IE) at an accredited institution.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75, with a 3.0 in the major field of study.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in related degree fields; not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Expand knowledge of the transportation industry and related systems.
• Perform limited analysis and design tasks.
• May troubleshoot and address bugs with assistance from senior team members.
• May understand software development lifecycle processes through training.
• May gain knowledge of quantitative methods, programming, optimization, and data analysis.
• May assist with solving problems related to process improvement by analyzing internal and external data.
• May develop scripts and automation of infrastructure processes under senior engineer guidance.
• May learn to diagnose systems problems.
