Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Spokane, WA seeks a Social Worker (GS-9 to GS-11) to assess needs, develop care plans, and deliver counseling for Veterans and families. A master’s in social work is required, with state licensure/certification to practice independently.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at MSW level (state).
• Ability to assess psychosocial functioning and formulate treatment plans.
• Knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses and terminology.
• Experience with diverse Veterans and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assess Veterans and families, develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
• Coordinate referrals to community and other agencies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients.
• Maintain understanding of medical/mental health conditions relevant to care.
