Position Overview

• Oversees a construction crew working on the job site, ensuring work complies with installation and safety standards.
• Leads field crew in the detection, repair, and maintenance of buried natural gas pipelines and infrastructure.
• Manages field operations focusing on safety, compliance, efficiency, cost management, and innovation.
• Manages construction activities to ensure company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state and federal requirements.

Essential Functions

• Supervises construction crew, rendering hands‑on assistance.
• Ability to manage large projects with five or more employees on a crew.
• Responsible for completing required paperwork daily: daily timesheets, as‑built or service cards, daily production reports, traceability documentation, and customer pay sheets.
• Trains crew members according to company safety policies.
• Acts as a single point of contact with customers, inspectors, subcontractors and vendors performing work in the field.
• Supervises daily operations in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements, continually monitoring the site for changing safety conditions.
• Monitors crew progress to ensure satisfactory job completion, keeping construction progress in line with the overall project schedule and cost estimate.
• Ensures all work is compliant with installation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Proficient knowledge of gas installation techniques and standards.
• Deep understanding of gas distribution systems, piping materials (polyethylene, steel), and corrosion control.
• Proficiency in operating leak detection equipment (laser/ultrasonic detectors) and excavation machinery.
• Ability to manage a crew, train team members, and communicate with management.
• Minimum three (3) years of field experience as a foreman, valid driver’s license with clean driving record, minimum two (2) years of gas‑pipeline construction and replacement experience, strong interpersonal and team‑oriented skills.
• Proficient knowledge of gas installation techniques and standards, attention to detail, organization skills, management skills, and the ability to read and draft blueprints (as‑builts).
