Job summary

Safe Site Utility Services LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team. You will oversee projects from scope through delivery, coordinating with clients, utility owners, and jurisdictions to ensure quality, safety, and on-time performance.

The role requires 5+ years in SUE or related fields, with strong project coordination and leadership skills. Travel to project sites in Oregon is expected as needed, with a focus on accuracy and stakeholder

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SUE, utility locating/designating, utility construction, survey, civil infrastructure, or related field with demonstrated project coordination or leadership.
• Understanding of underground utility systems and investigation methods (electromagnetic locating, GPR).
• Experience coordinating field crews, clients, utility owners, and jurisdictions.
• Ability to read civil plans and project scope documents.
• Proficiency with common project documentation and Microsoft Office tools.

• Develop schedules and coordinate field crew makeup and priorities.
• Serve as primary client contact and communicate scope, schedule, access, and status.
• Coordinate with utilities, owners, municipalities, and agencies for records, access, permits and requirements.
• Track scope, budget, labor, subcontractors, and schedule; flag risks early.
• Review field documents, utility data, and CAD deliverables for completeness.
• Coordinate Quality Level A test-hole activities including permitting and traffic control.
• Support QA/QC and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with CAD/mapping staff and engineers for stamped deliverables.
• Participate in kickoff, progress, closeout, and post-project review meetings.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing SUE projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage SUE projects involving Quality Levels D, C, B, and A, including records research, field designation, survey/data collection, test-hole coordination, mapping/CAD, and final deliverables.
• Develop project schedules, coordinate appropriate field crew makeup, and communicate daily priorities and changes to project teams.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain clear communication regarding scope, schedule, access, constraints, deliverables, and project status.
• Coordinate with Colorado 811, utility owners, municipalities, agencies, and other jurisdictions for records, access, permits, and project requirements.
• Track project scope, budget, labor, subcontractors, and schedule; identify potential changes or risks early and communicate them before they affect delivery.
• Review field documentation, utility data, sketches, photos, mapping, and CAD deliverables for completeness and consistency before engineering review or client delivery.
• Coordinate Quality Level A test-hole activities, including permitting, traffic control, hydrovac resources, restoration, and documentation.
• Support QA/QC and compliance with company safety procedures and SUE operations.
• Work closely with CAD/mapping staff and the responsible professional engineer when engineering review, quality-level assignment, or stamped deliverables are required.
• Participate in project kickoff, progress, closeout, and post-project review meetings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SUE, utility locating/designating, utility construction, survey, civil infrastructure, or a closely related field, with demonstrated project coordination or leadership experience.
• Practical understanding of underground utility systems and utility investigation methods, including electromagnetic locating and GPR.
• Working knowledge of SUE Quality Levels D, C, B, and A and the project workflow associated with collecting and delivering utility information.
• Experience coordinating field crews, clients, utility owners, and jurisdictions.
• Ability to read civil plans, utility plans, construction drawings, and project scope documents.
• Proficiency with common project documentation and Microsoft Office tools.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Colorado.
• No civil engineering degree is required for this position.
