Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a SUE CAD Technician to process survey data, develop precise SUE CAD plans, and ensure GDOT-compliant deliverables. You will work closely with project managers and field crews, applying CAD expertise across MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of SUE CAD experience, with strong reading of maps and drawings. On-site role in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two or more years in SUE CAD preferred.
• Experience processing survey data and producing CAD plans to GDOT standards.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong reading of maps, drawings and geospatial data.

Responsibilities

• Process raw survey data into CAD-compatible formats.
• Develop detailed SUE CAD plans aligned with PDP and EDG.
• Perform QA/QC on CAD drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Follow GDOT SUE Deliverable Checklist for project standards.
• Collaborate with SUE Project Manager to meet goals and timelines.
• Coordinate with project managers and field crews for updates.
• Verify utility locations with field crews and resolve data discrepancies.
• Identify CAD workflow improvements to boost efficiency.
• Assist in related tasks to support project goals.

Position Overview

Accura is seeking a skilled SUE CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience processing survey data, developing precise SUE CAD plans, and ensuring compliance with GDOT standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, field crews, and requires proficiency in various CAD software.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Process raw survey data from multiple sources into CAD-compatible formats.
• Develop detailed and accurate SUE CAD plans in alignment with GDOT's Plan Development Process (PDP) and Electronic Data Guidelines (EDG).
• Conduct rigorous QA/QC checks on CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Follow GDOT's SUE Deliverable Checklist to ensure compliance with regulatory and project standards.
• Work closely with the SUE Project Manager to meet project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with project managers, providing updates and addressing any project-related issues.
• Collaborate with field crews to verify utility locations and resolve discrepancies in data.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within CAD workflows, proposing methods to enhance efficiency.
• Assist in other related tasks as needed to support project goals and client needs.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a SUE CAD Technician.
• Proficiency in MicroStation v8i, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
• Experience with GDOT projects is highly preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret maps and technical drawings.
• Comprehensive understanding of utility systems, layout, and geospatial configurations.
• Ability to interpret and transpose utility records and as-built drawing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
