Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health in Columbia, MD seeks a SUD Therapist for day IOP, in-person, full-time with pay $34–$44/hour depending on experience. You will build treatment alliances, facilitate IOP/OP groups, and deliver recovery education while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes DSM-5/ASAM evaluations, thorough documentation, and measurable outcomes, with on-call coverage and opportunities for clinical supervision and growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field.
• Credentials: CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LMSW, LCADC, LCSW, or LCSW-C (Maryland).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in the SUD field (group treatment a plus).
• If in personal recovery: minimum 3 years continuous sobriety (5+ preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build genuine, collaborative treatment alliances with patients, adapting to their evolving clinical needs.
• Facilitate addiction treatment groups at the IOP and OP levels of care.
• Deliver engaging addiction and recovery education presentations.
• Conduct assessments, case management, discharge planning, and coordinate with referral sources and other providers.
• Partner with the treatment team to address co-occurring psychiatric needs.
• Complete evaluations for substance use disorders using DSM-5 and ASAM criteria.
• Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation that meets state and CARF standards.
• Track and contribute to measurable outcomes — retention, attendance, program completion, and treatment goal achievement.
• Share on-call coverage on a rotating basis to support patients in crisis.
• Bring experience in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and trauma-informed care into daily practice.
• Represent Kolmac/CCG with professionalism and positive energy, in and out of session.

What You’ll Do

• Build genuine, collaborative treatment alliances with patients, adapting to their evolving clinical needs

• Track and contribute to measurable outcomes — retention, attendance, program completion, and treatment goal achievement
• Share on-call coverage on a rotating basis (about one week, a few times per year) to support patients in crisis
• Bring your experience in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and trauma-informed care into daily practice
• Represent Kolmac/CCG with professionalism and positive energy, in and out of session

Direct patient care makes up roughly 55% of the role, depending on program needs.

What You Bring

• Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
  • Credentials (one of the following): CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LMSW, LCADC, LCSW, or LCSW-C (Maryland)
• 2+ years of experience in the SUD field (group treatment experience a plus, not required)
• Strong clinical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Comfort working in an electronic medical record system
• Familiarity with a range of recovery modalities — 12-Step, SMART Recovery, Harm Reduction, Recovery Dharma, Women for Sobriety, and more
• A flexible, creative, team-first mindset, ready to grow with an expanding program
• If in personal recovery: minimum of 3 years continuous sobriety required (5+ preferred)
