Bay Area Community Health (BACH) seeks a SUD Program Supervisor to manage the Dual Diagnosis program on-site. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, direct treatment services, and ensure evidence-based, person-centered care for patients across MAT and related services.

Job description

Overall Summary:

SUD Program supervisor provides on-site management of the Dual Diagnosis program and direct treatment services (mental health and addiction or dependence treatment services) by a multidisciplinary team. The SUD Program supervisor directs and coordinates the medically-approved program for patients and inspires and motivates Bay Area Community Health (BACH) patients to help develop tools to work toward recovery using evidence-based and person-centered practices. Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation activities of BACH’s SUD Programs to effectively provide services and support to patients. Participates in the interview process and recommendation to hire, train, supervise and evaluate program staff. Coordinates work with Outreach and Planning and Development staff to promote services and education in the community and maintain collaborative working relationships with organizations, professionals and public officials. Coordinates timely program documentation, collection activities, agency and funder reporting preparation for management’s review and SUD mission.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate clients’ mental and physical health, addiction, or problem behavior and assess their readiness for treatment.
  • Help clients develop treatment goals and plans.
  • Review and recommend treatment options with clients and their families.
  • Help clients develop skills and behaviors necessary to recover from their addiction or modify their behavior.
  • Work with clients to identify behaviors or situations that interfere with their recovery.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to program staff.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the program.
  • Provide monthly reports on program updates and progress.
  • Evaluate program quality and contribute to continuous program quality improvement with additional funding to support MAT services.
  • Coordinate, implement, tailor, adapt, and evaluate program activities to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Participate in selection and recommendation to hire, train, supervise and evaluate program staff, as well as volunteers and interns.
  • Ensure HIPAA and BACH policies and procedures are maintained related to the input and update of confidential client files and database.
  • Coordinate with satellite sites and maintain stakeholder relationships as relevant to these sites.
  • Ensure collection and maintenance of accurate, up-to-date program documentation.
  • Coordinate with Outreach and Planning and Development to represent BACH programs at meetings and interface with potential and community entities as relevant to programs, educate public officials about SUD-related issues.
  • Monitor staff safety and compliance with approved organizational policy and procedures.
  • Flexible work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, occasional overnight, and at various locations and outreach venues.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and meetings as needed, and as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work related experience with active substance users.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word or equivalent software products.

Preferred Education, Experience, Training:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
  • Grant management experience.
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural a plus.
Work Conditions:

Travel locally to visit other sites, may require a day or overnight trip to attend events; workload may be demanding at times; require professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Demands:
  • Sitting, walking, and standing associated with a normal medical, clinical and administrative office environment, with some bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks involving standard office equipment and computer keyboard, including repetitive movements, such as typing.
  • Traveling to work sites, including some exposure to outside elements.
  • Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations, requiring adherence to extensive safety precautions and possibly the use of protective equipment.

Managerial personnel (supervisors, managers, directors, executive management) who are exempt or non-exempt and who are responsible for use of independent judgment to make personnel decisions or to recommend personnel decisions. Personnel decisions include, but are not limited to: hiring, promoting, transferring, evaluating, rewarding and terminating employees.
