Job summary

Duluth Bethel is seeking a student intern for its Substance Use Disorders Services in Duluth, MN. The intern will learn to deliver co-occurring SUD treatment under supervision, with duties covering intake, assessments, treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, and discharge summaries.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a program specializing in alcohol and drug counseling or mental health counseling.
• Authorized to provide services under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be free of problematic substance use for at least two years prior to hiring.
• Must meet supervision requirements under 245G.11 subd. 10.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete intake paperwork including initial services plans.
• Learn to complete assessments and treatment plans, and review weekly plans.
• Learn to facilitate education groups, group counseling, and individual counseling.
• Learn crisis intervention techniques.
• Learn to complete discharge summaries.
• Model good communication with the treatment team and stakeholders.
• Maintain positive public relations.
